Who to talk to

Joe Giovanini — Owner
Signed the lease and built the room. Also behind The Corner in Barberton. Fifteen years in bars and restaurants, and he grew up here. Best for the business story, the downtown story, and why Barberton.

Melissa Largent — General Manager
Runs the room, the staff and the calendar. Best for food and drink, families and parties, and what a night actually looks like.

Cory Scott — Simulator and systems lead
Keeps the simulators, the scoring and the screens running. Twenty-five years around golf. Best for how the technology works, the leagues, and the golf angle.

Quotes, free to use

Attributed and approved. Lift them as they are.

“We’ve been feeding this town at The Corner since before anybody here was born. This is the same thing with a golf club in your hand.”

Joe Giovanini, owner

“Everybody keeps asking why Barberton. My answer is that nobody asked why when we stayed for a hundred and sixteen years.”

Joe Giovanini, owner

“It’s January in Ohio and you can play Pebble Beach, race Monaco and still get wings. That’s the whole pitch.”

Joe Giovanini, owner

“Families at four, leagues at seven, the game on every screen all night. One room does all three and that’s deliberate.”

Melissa Largent, general manager

“The technology measures everything — club speed, spin, the lap you just blew. What it can’t do is tell you why. That’s what the guy on the next stool is for.”

Cory Scott, simulator lead

“A golf league in February in Northeast Ohio used to be a joke. We start ours on February 8.”

Cory Scott, simulator lead

Questions we get asked

Why Barberton?

Because we are from here and The Corner is two blocks away. The downtown has a DORA, a Main Street programme and new rooms opening. We would rather be the reason people stay than follow everybody to Fairlawn.

What happens to The Corner?

Nothing. Same bar, same kitchen, same hours, same people. The Caddie Corner is a second room, not a replacement.

Is it 21+?

No. All ages every night, under 18 with an adult. Racing is 12 and up. Saturday daytime leans family; after dark leans adult.

How does a golf simulator actually work?

Cameras and radar track the ball and the club at impact and model the flight on a real course. You hit a real ball with your own clubs into a screen. Nothing about the swing is simulated.

Is it just for golfers?

No, and that is the point of seven bays rather than seven golf bays. Racing and darts carry the people who do not golf, and thirty TVs carry the people who came for the game.

Can people book online?

Yes, from Monday, December 14 at 9 AM at play.caddiecorner.pub. Walk-ins are welcome whenever a bay is open.

Are you a franchise?

No. Independently owned, one location, Barberton.
